COACH aims to provide services to all in need with a strategic focus on minorities and perinatal mental health care. COACH focuses on holistic approaches to mental health therapy.

Our Mission is to create a total healing environment for parents with Postpartum Depression, individuals with Mental Health Disorders and Families or Couples in need of mediation. C.O.A.C.H will provide talk therapy and wholistic interventions to ensure all clients are on a path to total healing and to lead a life and confidence, strength and independence.

C.O.A.C.H partners with organizations and services to help perinatal and mental health clients to achieve self-care beyond talk therapy. Services and organizations will include but not be limited to: Doulas, Midwives, Massage Therapists, Low expense and low cost Prenatal Care, referrals to psychiatrist, referrals to psychologist and additional beneficial community resources.

Shana Simmons, LCSW

Shana Simmons is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Shana’s
passion for individuals with mental health needs and other disabilities is hereditary. After earning
a bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work from Norfolk State University, Shana began
serving youth and families as an in-home therapist.  Shana broadened her treatment focus to include work with adults and couples as a private practice psychotherapist, group therapist, and collegiate
counselor. Shana has also worked as an assessment counselor and an inpatient treatment
clinician.

Starla King, MSW, Supervisee in Social Work

Starla is a Supervisee in Clinical Social Work with an expertise in mental health counseling, crisis management/prevention, holistic wellness coaching, and therapeutic mentoring. I specialize in working with women who are struggling with perinatal mental health, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD/trauma, women’s issues, and relationship/family conflict.

The initial process of finding a therapist who meets your needs MATTERS just as much as the work are you are preparing to put in. My therapeutic technique is to empower you in a safe space to recover strength, energy, and confidence to make life decisions. Contact me if you are ready to start the healing process! Brittney Hunter, LCSW, CSAC

Brittney is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has both an undergraduate and graduate degree in Social Work from Norfolk State University.  Brittney has a past work history that includes substance use counseling for adults; facilitating psychoeducational groups and group therapy for adults and adolescents dealing with anxiety, depression, post-partum, and substance use; and re-entry case management and counseling for adults that are re-entering society after periods of incarceration.
